Converted from one of the larger houses of the village the 'Posada' retains many of the original features so valued by the rural inhabitants of times gone by. From the rustic terracotta floor tiles to the age old, chestnut roof beams, the house blends both charm and practicality. The thick outer walls keep the house cool in summer and cosy in winter, while the terrace and courtyard offer possibilities for whiling away many a pleasant hour in the sierra sunshine. The large cobblestone entrance hall recalls the days when farm animals were led in through the house to a trough in the basement. Here, precious hams were salted and hung to cure from hooks still visible on the wooden beams.

The Guestrooms
The guesthouse has 8 double rooms of which 6 have en-suite bathrooms. There are 2 other bathrooms for the other 2 rooms. All rooms are different but all have their own character, and each is accessed from either the courtyard, the terrace or the upstairs lounge.

RATES
  Double en-suite room incl. breakfast € 50
  Single en-suite room incl. breakfast € 40

The Lounge
Aside from the guestrooms there are several public areas around the house for guests to enjoy the atmospheric surroundings.  The quiet upstairs lounge is tastefully furnished with sofa, chairs and coffee table and also has a selection of books and games available for guests. From here, a balcony enjoys quaint views to the cobbled street below, as well as across the red-tiled rooftops to the church tower and the forested hills beyond.

The Breakfast Room
The largest room in the house where breakfast is served each morning. The rooms around have antique, chestnut panelled doors that stand in stark contrast to the whitewashed walls. From here heavy wooden doors open to the terrace to overlook the courtyard and the garden beyond.

The Terrace
The covered terrace enjoys a sunny southern aspect and overlooks the  cobbled courtyard and garden. Breakfast can be taken here from spring through summer and it's the ideal place to while away a sunny afternoon amidst the potted plants and the burbling sound of the fountain below.

The Patio and Garden
The enclosed cobbled courtyard provides access to the two downstairs guestrooms and Craig's tool shed! There's a cool covered area under the terrace with cushioned bench seating and a large table for writing. A small fountain burbles amidst the climbing jasmine and honeysuckle .  From the courtyard double doors open to a 20m walled garden.  Flower beds border a lawn dotted with Cherry, Persimmon, Plum and Mimosa trees . We hope to build a pool here some day!
